Is there an alternative power supply instead of battery power?

Yes, a USB Type-C cable and wall adapter can be used to power the camera. For more details, please refer to FAQ category "EXTERNAL POWER".

I need to record a project that might last for months. Can TLC2000 support that?

The battery life of the TLC2000 depends mainly on the Capture Interval of your choice. Please refer to “Time Lapse Calculator” on our website.

Why doesn’t the battery life of my TLC2000 match the result from Time Lapse Calculator on the Website?

The estimated battery life is tested under certain conditions (shown at the bottom of the page). These conditions vary for different users. Thus, results may vary as conditions change.

The battery life indicator/icon on TLC2000 shows a significant amount of loss right after I turn camera on/off or when I set up the camera. Does its battery life really last long for recording?

Power consumption can be huge when TLC2000 is being turned on/off, during user set up, and when LCD screen is on. The camera will turn to power saving mode during recording and the LCD screen will turn off to preserve power. The use of an external power supply is advised when setting up camera.

Is TLC2000 able to operate under high temperature?

The operating temperature range of TLC2000 is between 32°F ∼ 113°F (0°C ∼ 45°C). However, another important factor that might affect camera operation is battery. Please ensure the brand and type of battery being used in the camera is able to operate in your shooting environment long term.

How can I watch the recorded time lapse videos?

Please take the microSD card out of the camera and read it on a computer. Windows system is recommended.

There are some problems showing when I played my time lapse video. Is there any recommended video player for my time lapse videos?

Some video players are not compatible with the time lapse videos of our cameras. You may use Brinno Video Player or a third-party video player called “VLC” to play time lapse videos.

I used my MacBook to read the microSD card. Sometimes I can see files in it, but sometimes they disappear. Why is it so?

Some MacOS do not support files in AVI format. If you must use this system, please use a microSD card reader and convert AVI to MP4. Users may download third-party video players like “VLC” or “QuickTime” to convert or play the files.

There seems to be something wrong about my SD card. Why couldn’t the files in my card be opened?

Some brands and capacities of microSD card are not compatible with TLC2000. Please refer to the “SD Card Compatibility List” on product page. Formatting your microSD card using the TLC2000 camera ( Menu> More> Format SD card ) before recording is advised.

My project takes place only in the day time. Is there any setting that can make the camera take pictures only during specific time?

Yes, there is. Please go to “Schedule” to setup the day and time you wish to record. For more detail about this function, please refer to tutorial video: https://youtu.be/JvQHsnZJ8_8(For firmware FW90).

Why are there many video files instead of one?

TLC2000 generates new files during the following situations:
  1. File size reaches 500MB.
  2. Schedule is “on”.
Users can simply use video editors to connect the clips together. If a continuous video file is needed when Schedule is on, upgrading camera firmware to FW90 is advised. There are two extra modes added under Schedule option: Continuous & Daily. By choosing Schedule> Continuous, camera will not generate one file a day.

Will video footage be gone, erased, or damaged when battery power is dead?

TLC2000 detects battery power. It saves video and turns itself off automatically when battery is low. Furthermore, the circuit of power supply and file saving are different. Battery power supply does not affect file saving.

Does TLC2000 creates raw picture or JEPG files when it is on Time Lapse Mode?

TLC2000 auto-combines all the pictures taken into an AVI video when user stops it from recording. It does not save each picture taken into JEPG files.

How do I know that my TLC2000 is still recording instead of being off? The LCD screen is off and cannot be awaken during recording!

The LED Indicator on TLC2000 flashes green every ten seconds while it is recording (Note: FW90). It is currently the only way to check if it is still recording.
